I haven’t written a review for three full weeks (sorry!) so there’s a lot that’s happened in kpop that I’ve missed. So I’m doing a round-up review of the interesting songs and videos that have come out over these three weeks. We’ve had some heavy comebacks, and kpop right now for sure ain’t boring. We’ve got a new sub-unit, an old one coming back, a few crazy boy groups, a couple of great female soloists and one great girl group. This is the longest multi-group review I’ve ever written, since I’ve only ever featured 6 and 5 groups before, respectively. But all these people deserve to be talked about, so I will.

Opinionated Profile of Secret
Wow, 40 random posts? I still remember the first one like it was yesterday… And also, 3 girl group profiles in a row? I don’t think that’s ever happened before.
Secret are the (to me) most notorious swappers in kpop, meaning that they jump back and forth between very sexy concepts and very cute concept like the rest of us switch our socks. And I think they do both really well. Very cute concepts normally aren’t my cup of tea (though I’m getting more into them lately. What’s happening to me?!) but the kind of sexy Secret provide me with is right up my alley. It may not be subtle, but the girls pull it off with a certain elegance and class that mean they never look cheap. Secret’s sexy concepts are just better than their cute ones in general. Their singing is better in those songs, and the dances are always more interesting. Continue reading
Kpop Sub-Units Galore
Yes, I know, I missed another review. But I have a very good reason! I went to the zoo as a part of my “biological diversity” class to look at big mammals and didn’t get home until around 8:30… So it’s really not my fault.
This week I’m listing some of my favorite sub-units from some of my favorite groups. And yes, I’m allowing more than one sub-unit per group, if they’re awesome enough.
So here they are, in no logical order whatsoever, my favorite sub-units! (right now) Continue reading
Opinionated Profile of Girl’s Day
Girl’s Day is a group I haven’t considered one of my own for very long, but a group that has been growing on me. They do sexy better than the absolute majority, and for a group that started out extremely cutely, that’s impressive. Continue reading
The 9 Sexiest Kpop Girl Groups
As you might have noticed, there was no review this Tuesday, and here’s why: Continue reading
Opinionated Profile of Kara
I hate it when groups change their lineup too much. I really wanted to find a shot of the current members for this post, and the best I could find was their album cover, and that annoys me. But anyway… It’s been a few weeks since I wrote the last opinionated profile (B2ST) and even longer since I wrote the last opinionated profile of a girl group (T-ARA), so now it’s time again. Continue reading
My Friend Is Making Me Do This
This is a list of some songs and videos that my friend desperately wants me to talk about. Some of them she’s been bugging me about reviewing since I started this blog, and this post is a way for me to finally get some peace back into my life. I’ve never seen/heard some of these videos/songs, so I really don’t know what to expect. It could be anything. I’m a wee bit scared, not gonna lie. Continue reading
Review of Super Junior’s “Mamacita” (The Album)
Wow, kpop is slow right now! That’ll change soon, with up-coming comebacks from 2PM and Teen Top to spice things up for me, but it hasn’t been very interesting lately. So I’ve decided to review the entire “Mamacita” album! Yes, I wrote about the single and music video last week, but I’ve heard that the album’s just as fabulous, so why not? Continue reading
A Tribute to Ladies’ Code
As the entire kpop fandom know by now (I’m assuming), Ladies’ Code got into a car accident on September 3. Ashley and Zuny suffered milder injuries, while Sojung’s were more severe. Her condition is now stable, thankfully. But EunB passed away on the site, and today Rise also passed away, after being in a coma since the accident. This is a huge tragedy, and I’m touched to see how the majority of kpop fans are coming together to mourn these two beautiful girls, who weren’t supposed to die. The kpop world has lost two brightly shining stars, and all we can do now is to support the remaining members, and remember the ones we’ve lost. And that is what I want to do here. Continue reading
Sorry, Not Sorry
Sorry guys (and Leo) but I ain’t writing anything real today. I’m just going to snuggle up in bed, eat candy and watch America’s Next Top Model. Why you ask? Well. High school sucks, and I’m tired. But I’ll be back on Sunday!
