Attraction Levels of Kpop Groups – U-KISS vs Super Junior vs NU’EST

We’re now a fourth way through with these posts, as the planning looks right now. This week I’ll be tackling another two groups, U-KISS and Super Junior, that have had some line-up changes, so to be specific: I’m only including the members that are officially part of the groups.

Here are the rules:

1. Between two and four groups of the same sex are chosen. (Almost all posts will be three groups, and most will be with male groups)

2. Each member within each group is presented through three pictures and scored from one to ten, based on how attractive I find them.

3. Each group’s average score is calculated and the winning group is announced.

4. The three members with the highest scores from each group go head to head, and an individual winner is announced.

5. Plenty of polls are added in the end so can you show how much you agree or disagree with me.

Piece of cake! Now let’s move on to the first group, U-KISS!

U-KISS

First Candidate: Soohyun

Soohyun has a very masculine and mature look, and most certainly looks his age. He could pass for older as well, which isn’t the most common when it comes to kpop idols. I do find him attractive, and I like the maturity, but I’ve never been much attracted to him.

Score: 6.5

Second Candidate: Kiseop

Kiseop is a tricky one for me. In the right hairstyle and styling he just blows me away (the ‘Neverland’ era was incredible) but at other times he does look a little strange to me. He has that look of an ulzzang/an anime character come to life. And that’s a great look! Sometimes.

Score: 7.5

Third Candidate: Eli

Eli is another tricky one. At times I find him to be so incredible sexy, and at other times he just looks like a guy that I could see walking down the street. A good-looking guy, for sure, but still just a normal guy.

Score: 7.5

Fourth Candidate: AJ

I feel very much the same way about AJ that I do about Eli; he just seems like a normal guy. Which is in no way a bad thing, but in the super-human world of kpop it seems a little mundane. I do find AJ quite attractive though.

Fifth Candidate: Hoon

Hoon is just another one of those people that I can see are attractive, but that I don’t feel attracted to. He’s a cute guy, for sure, but he’s not my type.

Score: 6.5

Final Candidate: Kevin

I find Kevin to be almost beautiful. I have a strong love for the masculine buff guys, but I do have a very strong love for the softer more feminine guys as well. Kevin is adorable, and handsome, and oh-so-pretty, all at once.

Score: 8

Super Junior

First Candidate: Leeteuk

I’m torn about Leeteuk… Sometimes I find him to be a great mix of handsome and sexy, but a lot of the time I think he looks somehow weird. I’ve never been very attracted to him though, even at his great times.

Score: 6.5

Second Candidate: Yesung

I have some troubles with Yesung. I’ve always somehow felt like the reason why I’m not super attracted to him is because of the styling. But since I’ve been saying that for years now, I’m really starting to doubt if that’s true. I have no idea what the styling should be, and since he has tried some different things over the years, and none of them have worked for me, I’m not sure what to do with this guy.

Score: 7

Third Candidate: Kibum

It feels weird including Kibum since he hasn’t been an active member for years, but since he is still an official member, I can’t not include him. Something about the combination of his eyes and nose has always seemed a bit off to me. I can’t really pinpoint it, but I’ve never really found him attractive.

Score: 6

Fourth Candidate: Heechul

I adore the way Heechul looks. He has my absolute favorite kind of androgyny, and with long hair he just blows me away. Please please please grow your hair out again!

Score: 8

Fifth Candidate: Kangin

There is nothing immature or feminine in any way about the way Kangin looks, and I’ve always considered him as one of the purest manly kpop stars. But I’ve also always found him to be quite plain, he really looks like just any guy.

Score: 6.5

Sixth Candidate: Shindong

This is going to sound mean, but Shindong is just a little too big for my taste. He’s not huge, in any way, but everyone’s entitled to their personal preferences when it comes to attraction, and I just happen to prefer my men a little slimmer.

Score: 6

Seventh Candidate: Sungmin

Sungmin has always been an adorable guy, and as I’m now seeing him mature and look more and more manly, I’m getting more and more attracted to him. I’m not really into the aegyo-cute guys, so I much prefer the Sungmin I’m seeing nowadays.

Score: 7.5

Eighth Candidate: Eunhyuk

Eunhyuk most certainly has a very unique look, which I like, but it also makes it so that he really needs the right kind of hair to make it work. He doesn’t have a face that can pull off anything, so when he’s styled incorrectly it just doesn’t work. He has a kick-ass body though.

Score: 7

Ninth Candidate: Donghae

Donghae is one of those guys that’s so super good-looking that it’s distracting. He has a very classic manly face, and an almost prince charming-esque look.

Score: 8.5

Tenth Candidate: Siwon

I’m sorry, but I just can’t handle Siwon. This guy is the most annoyingly distracting dude on the face of this Earth. I don’t want to find him as attractive as I do, but when he looks at “me” with that sex-face, I just can’t handle it.

Score: 9

Eleventh Candidate: Ryeowook

This guy is the cutest, most adorably petite little thing out there. He has a very good and clean-cut handsome face, and I approve. He’s a little too cutesy for me though.

Score: 7

Final Candidate: Kyuhyun

I do think Kyuhyun’s look is a little off, but in the best kind of way. He’s tall and thin, and with his long limbs, he looks like he’s an alien who’s escaped from the same planet that Sungyeol’s from.

Score: 7.5

NU’EST

First Candidate: Aron

Aron has a look that’s a mix of cute, handsome, and approachable. I like it, and while I’ve never felt much attraction towards him, I do think he’s cute.

Score: 7

Second Candidate: JR

JR is always an attractive guy, but when he gets the right kind of hairdo he lights up in a way that’s really quite beautiful. He’s a very handsome guy, with a face that’s very manly.

Score: 8

Third Candidate: Baekho

Baekho has a very masculine look (and killer arms) but I’ve never felt an overwhelming attraction towards him.

Score: 7

Fourth Candidate: Minhyun

Minhyun has a quite feminine, and very cool look. His eyes and overall features makes him have an almost feline look, which I like a lot. He’s one of those people that you just kind of want to keep watching.

Score: 7.5

Final Candidate: Ren

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I’m a big fan of people who push the boundaries. And Ren really does. He does gender-bender better than anyone else in the kpop sphere. I find Ren to be a beautiful and radiant creature, that’s the only way I can describe him.

Score: 8

Average Scores

U-KISS: 7.17

Super Junior: 7.21

NU’EST: 7.50

Once again, this was close! In the end though, NU’EST takes the team win, with Super Junior as second, and U-KISS as third.

(JR was picked over Ren because he’s higher on my bias list)

And the winner is…

Siwon!

This was yet another obvious win, but it still has to be announced. Out of JR and Kevin, I would say that I’m more attracted to JR, so that makes him the runner-up.

Just as last time, the individual winner is not from the winning group. I’m liking that pattern, it makes it more intriguing. If you could call any of this intriguing, that is.
