Wow, this is the 30th list of the week… It’s quite incredible to think about how far this little blog has gotten since I published that first list of the week. Wow. But now is no time to feel nostalgic, for it’s time for more summery kpop songs!I wanted to put them all into last week’s post, but I didn’t want to make it too long… So here’s the rest! In alphabetical order, just like last time.
15. Orange Caramel’s “Lipstick”
Orange Caramel’s songs have a very fun and summery vibe to them in general, but this has got to be the most summery one. The song always makes me happy, and the video is one big pile of glorious.
16. Roy Kim’s “Love Love Love”
This is the song that gave me the inspiration to do these two posts. It’s the perfect song for summer, and it’s in general just a really great song. I need more of this guy in my life!!
17. Infinite’s “Man in Love”
This isn’t my favorite song from Infinite, but it might be my favorite video. It’s impossible not to smile while looking at this amazingness, and since we all know what happens in the video, just the song makes us happy too.
18. TINY-G’s “Minimanimo”
Another song that you have to be a real pro to manage to be sad to. It also happens to be the absolute best song ever to clean to, just saying.
19. A Pink’s “No No No”
A Pink at their very best. It’s all flowery, sweet and happy and it just reeks of being a summer track! Which makes sense since it was released in July.
20. Girls’ Generation’s “Oh!”
Normally I can barely handle this song, but summer is the time when I can at least semi-tolerate aegyo, and now I love it! This was one of the very first kpop songs I ever heard as well, so it holds a lot of sentimental value. I remember replaying it over and over again to try and figure out who’s who. (Trying to learn Girls’ Generation as my first group was a bad choice. But I did it! And now there’s no group I can’t learn)
21. Ladies’ Code’s “Pretty Pretty”
Ladies’ Code were most certainly among my favorite rookies in 2013, and this was my favorite out of the three singles they released that year. It has a great fun vibe, vibrant colors and lyrics that you want to sing along to on those hot days when you feel oh so pretty.
22. NU’EST’s “Sandy”
Cute, fun and sweet, all I want in a summer track. Plus some pretty boys, which is essential for any good summer. Now if only my name was Sandy…
23. BESTie’s “Thank U Very Much”
Maybe it’s just because I’ve been loving this song so much this summer that I think of it as a summer track, but oh well. It’s a great song and it has a catchiness that works any time of year! Plus, summer is the time for new beginnings, which this song portrays.
24. Lee Hyori’s “U-Go-Girl”
My own personal queen of kpop provides me with a song that gives me that extra spring in my step any time of year, but extra much so in the summer. This feels like a proper summer hit.
25. B1A4’s “What’s Going On?”
You could argue that their latest song “Solo Day” is much more of a summery song than this is, and you’re probably right. But I love this song, and it makes me happy and feel all fuzzy in a way a summer song should. And since this is my list, I’ll put it on there.
26. B.A.P’s “Where Are You?”
The most out-of-character song we’ve gotten from B.A.P since their debut (Except for “Stop It”, but that hot mess should just be forgotten) is for sure the most summery song they’ve ever released. While “summery” isn’t really what I come to B.A.P for, I still adore this song and video. (And cross my fingers that their next release is more hard-hitting)
27. BTOB’s “Wow”
The first BTOB song I ever heard, and still my most definite favorite. Summer is, at least to me, a time when you want to feel sexy. And this is one of those songs that helps me remember that. They’re sexy, and it’s easy to pretend that it’s my sexy ass they’re singing about.
28. Secret’s “Yoohoo”
What a perfect song to end this list with. If I remember things correctly, this was the first Secret track I ever heard, and it’s one of those songs that I hate how much I love. But this time of year I can let go of the hate, and just dance along.
Summer! Let me know what your favorite songs for summer are, and what you think of my two lists!
