Attraction Levels of Kpop Groups – Girls’ Generation vs f(x)

This is the second to last of these posts, and the final one featuring girls. This is the only post that only includes two groups, so I thought it was only fitting to make it the battle of the SM girl groups!

Here are the rules:

1. Between two and four groups of the same sex are chosen. (Almost all posts will be three groups, and most will be with male groups)

2. Each member within each group is presented through three pictures and scored from one to ten, based on how attractive I find them.

3. Each group’s average score is calculated and the winning group is announced.

4. The members with the highest scores from each group go head to head, and an individual winner is announced.

5. Plenty of polls are added in the end so can you show how much you agree or disagree with me.

Girls’ Generation

First Candidate: Taeyeon

If you are going to be the leader of a group like Girls’ Generation, you have to be pretty. Simple as that. And Taeyeon most certainly is. She’s very petite and cute, and really very beautiful.

Score: 8

Second Candidate: Jessica

All of kpop’s resident ice princess knows she’s beautiful, and I’d never dare to disagree. I also really like her personality. I don’t find her bitchy, and I find her blunt honesty refreshing.

Score: 9

Third Candidate: Sunny

I would never dare to call any of the Girls’ Generation members unattractive, but Sunny is for sure the member that I’ve never understood the glory of. I like her a lot more when she’s allowed to sex it up, but she’s still not for me.

Score: 6.5

Fourth Candidate: Tiffany

I adore Tiffany, and I think she’s so beautiful. But I’d much rather have her as my friend, or my big sister, than date her. But don’t you think for a second that that means I don’t love her! And Nichkhun, I’ve got my eye on you. If you hurt my girl, then God himself won’t be able to save you.

Score: 8

Fifth Candidate: Hyoyeon

Hyoyeon is not the ugly member, and don’t you dare ever say that to my face. I will mess you up. Yes, she’s more dependent on good styling than some of the other girls, but that just means it’s even more mean of SM to use her as the one to experiment on!

Score: 7.5

Sixth Candidate: Yuri

I love how approachable and sweet Yuri looks! She looks like that effortless beauty, who’s really kind, and so perfect that you want to hate her, but you can’t. Plus she sexes it up the best out of all of them.

Score: 8.5

Seventh Candidate: Sooyoung

I find Sooyoung to be so amazingly beautiful, and it’s always so frustrating that I can’t find pictures of her that truly show it. She’s just one of those people who look better in movement, I guess.

For some reason her look has always reminded me of a friend I used to have. That friend was half Filipino, so now I always think that Sooyoung is Filipino too, no matter how much that doesn’t make sense.

Score: 9.5

Eighth Candidate: Yoona

I’m pretty sure I’ll never fully get why people go crazy for Yoona. But she is a very pretty girl, that’s for sure.

Score: 8

Final Candidate: Seohyun

Seohyun is a very pretty girl, that’s for sure, but from an attractiveness point of view, she does not work well for me. She’s just a little too damn prim and proper.

Score: 7

First Candidate: Victoria

Victoria has an exoticness to her look that I appreciate, but I’ve always felt like her look was a little off, for some reason.

Score: 7

Second Candidate: Amber

20091210¿¬¿¹ ±×·ì ¿¡ÇÁ¿¢½º ÀÎÅͺä (¿¥¹ö) /ÀÌÈ¿±Õ±âÀÚ

I love Amber, and I’m normally a huge sucker for androgyny, but for some reason I’m not attracted to her. I adore her personality though, so that raises her score a little.

Score: 8

Third Candidate: Luna

I think Luna’s really pretty. She has such a nice and sweet look to her, which really matches the overall super sweet vibe she gives off. And she looks really great with simple black hair.

Score: 8

Fourth Candidate: Sulli

Sulli looks like such a kid. Especially if you just look at her face, and ignore the fact that she’s quite tall, she looks way more like 12, than her real age, 20. And, as you should know by now if you’ve been reading these posts, that’s not my type.

Score: 7.5

Final Candidate: Krystal

Is it mean of me to put two sisters up against each other? Perhaps, but these two are compared so much, I don’t think once more will make any sort of difference. While you can most certainly see that they are sisters, a lot of people say, and I’d have to agree, that Krystal looks more like Yoona, than like Jessica. Krystal has that girl-next-door, slightly plain, but still gorgeous look that I think is what’s made Yoona so famous, while Jessica has a much more out of this world type of beauty.

Score: 8.5

Average Scores

Girls’ Generation: 8.00

f(x): 7.80

And as it might have been expected, Girls’ Generation takes the team win! f(x) definitely put up a good fight though, and weren’t far behind.

Individual Winner

Representing Girls’ Generation:

Representing f(x):

And the winner is…

This wasn’t much of a reveal, since Sooyoung’s original score was a full point higher than Krystal’s. Krystal is truly beautiful too though, and I very much love the fiery sister of the ice princess.

  1. You know I love Sooyoung, she’s my only female kpop bias, everything about her is stunning, she’s a wonderful person inside and out. I love her humor, she’s so down to earth and friendly, and those killer legs!!!! I’m so jealous!! lol she’s a great singer/dancer, a great actress and an awesome MC, just love everything about her. I just can’t bring myself to like another female kpop idol, Sooyoung is very special.

As for the rest of SNSD, I think they’re all beautiful, and GG is probably the only girl group that I pay a lot of attention to lol.

I like Victoria too, she’s also one of those really friendly girls that you wanna be friends with. she’s also cute and funny.

Luna, Sulli and Amber all have different looks and styles, they’re unique and talented in their own ways. I love Luna’s voice, Sulli’s acting and Amber’s personality.
Krystal…..not my cup of tea and i will leave it like that.

    1. Sooyoung really is lovely. I don’t really follow any girl groups’ reality/variety shows but I have seen enough of her to realise that she’s really a very funny girl. Which is great, because a lot of girl groups but up very dull facades in interviews, so they won’t get dragged into some ridiculous scandal. So I really like it when the girls stand out more!

Girls’ Generation are truly stunning. Like damn.

Yes, Victoria does seem sweet. I’ve heard good things about her.

I know a lot of people don’t like Krystal… So far I can’t really get why though.

      1. I understand if you don’t want to elaborate, but I’m definitely curious! And even though I like both sisters, I won’t get hurt by your opinion. Differences in opinions are fine.

  2. I totally agree with you about Sooyoung. When I first started paying attention to SNSD, she just struck me as uniquely pretty and she’s totally my bias in the group. I especially loved her short hair in Genie. It made her stand out, but of course she’s beautiful with long or short hair.

  3. Which era is Hyoyeon’s last pic from? She looks stunning on that one! I will never understand why people would call her ugly…she’s gorgeous?

    1. I’m sorry, but I don’t know what era that’s from… I think it’s pretty old though. And yes, Hyoyeon is stunning and no one should say otherwise!
