These groups have all been mentioned and touched on, several times, but I still feel it’s relevant to finalize the ranking and rank my top ten groups, based on how they compare to each other. So let’s go!
10. Brown Eyed Girls
As I’ve said before, I’m an extremely strange fan of the Brown Eyed Girls. I just have a very small number of songs from them that I listen to (I think it’s like four) and I’ve never, I think, watched any sort of variety show or interview with them. I like the Brown Eyed Girls more in theory than anything else, to be honest. Their image is my favorite among all kpop girl groups, by far, and they all portray the image of the kind of woman I want to be: strong, independent, smart, beautiful and sexy.

As I’ve said, f(x) is the group I go to for happy music. Not for pick-me-up music, because their music just makes me annoyed when I’m upset or tired, but their music is truly prefect for those moments when you feel really good, and you just want to enjoy that.
Their music is consistent fun and has a very consistent sound to it as well. I like knowing what I’m getting so I appreciate groups who at least sort of stick to the same sound, though if a group moves from a sound/concept to a new one that I like way more, I’ll accept it like that *snaps fingers*.

8. Miss A
Miss A is another girl group that, just like Brown Eyed Girls, really represent something that I want to be. I think they’re the ultimate role model girl group, they show independence, confidence in their sexualities, and that it’s okay to be sad, it doesn’t make you weak. While I absolutely adore 2NE1, Miss A represent a much more approachable and understandable type of girl power.
It also doesn’t hurt that they make great music, and to me, Miss A is one of very very few girl groups that I think’ve got it all: looks, singing skills, rapping skills, dance skills and they’re backed by one of the big three. It puzzles me why they’re not even bigger.

Oh EXO… You really surprised me. I came out of 2012 being firmly in the B.A.P corner, and thought that EXO was fairly uninteresting and overhyped. But how I’ve changed. While I’m still very fond of B.A.P, EXO has definitely surpassed them and I really can’t say why, because I really don’t know.
But I do know one thing: I’d be lying if I said it was all about the music. I do like their music, but this is definitely about the members. Looks, personalities, talents, overall vibes. Some of these guys hit it out of the park in all these categories, and almost all of them nail, or do really good, in at least one.

As I’ve mentioned before, CNBLUE is a group I like almost completely based on music alone. While I’d definitely be lying if I said their looks played no part, I am a hundred percent sure that I’d listen to them even if I didn’t find them attractive.
I actually watched my very first interview with them, ever, a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised that these guys have great personalities! Not that I thought that they didn’t have that, I’d just never given it much thought.
I recently finished watching ‘Heirs’ and am now watching ‘You’re Beautiful’, and seeing Minhyuk and Yonghwa play characters I really love has definitely added some to my love for them. While I don’t think either is an astounding actor (Minhyuk is better than Yonghwa though, in my opinion), the fact that they play such likable characters gives them some extra affection, I can’t help it.

5. Girls’ Generation
As I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions, Girls’ Generation isn’t an easy group for me to admit to liking. Aegyo isn’t normally the way I swing, and having such a cutesy and helpless image when all the members are well in their twenties, kind of grosses me out. Not because I have a problem with women being cute in general, but because they seem uncomfortable with the overall style. So I’m very happy that they went a different route this time! (Even though I so far am not feeling the song) Let’s just hope it lasts.
Even though it’s been hard for me to admit to liking Girls’ Generation, it’s still obvious that I do. I’m super excited when they announce a comeback, I have strong opinions on all the members and I know plenty of their songs. So I’ve accepted it, and tried to move on with my life.

4. Block B
Block B are very dear to me, and they’re one of the groups that I love the least based on looks. While I definitely don’t think these guys aren’t attractive, I don’t see them as real lookers. I love their music and image though, insanely much. And the personalities they express through their music is awesome. Would I have loved them more if they were one of those typical visual groups? Maybe. But that doesn’t change the fact that I love them to an insane amount. Can you imagine how much I would have loved them if they were even hotter? It would have been too much to handle.

2NE1 is by far my favorite girl group. While I have pletny respect for the argument that they try too hard to maintain their hardcore image, I don’t agree with it. I can see what people who say that’s their reason for not liking this group mean but I love their over the top image. There is emotional depth to their music, it’s not just songs like ‘I Am The Best’. But I think the over the top, the so-bad-ass-that-they’re-overflowing songs are the best. It’s something I can’t really get from most other girl groups, and it’s something that I find incredibly fun.
This group holds the girl in all of the world that I (fan-) adore the most. And while I’ll save my member opinions for the opinionated profile, I’d like to quote something I read on tumblr: “I don’t know if I want to be you, your friend or on you”.
If you want to read more of my opinions on 2NE1 then check out: List of the Week #2.2, List of the Week #3 and List of the Week #4. An opinionated profile will be up next week.
Oh BIGBANG… How could I not like you? BIGBANG is another group that I think has all I’m looking for. They have great dancers, great singers, great rappers, great personalities and super hot dudes. While not all members fulfill all those categories, they do have someone to pick up the slack for the others in all of them.
A couple of these guys am I madly in love with. While I do like all of them a lot, those two are just so special to me. It’s almost magical.
This is the only group where I love them all as both solo singers and members, except maybe for Daesung… He hasn’t even gotten a Korean solo album yet (which is a disgrace) and I’m looking forward to that day.

As you might already know, SHINee is my absolute favorite group. They’re the group that cemented my love for kpop and the group that always keeps the fire burning. It’s the group where I’m madly in love with each and every member, in different ways, and the group that holds my ultimate bias.
I think SHINee is one of the absolute most gorgeous groups out there. Every other group that I know has at least one member that I don’t find attractive, and I think I can say it without being biased when I claim that SHINee doesn’t have one of those members.
SHINee are not all the best individual dancers, but as a team I think they come together beautifully. They’re my favorite dance group and this is not just to be credited to dance skills but also to their choreography, which is great, and to my overall biasedness, of course.
